FORUM HELP: A Quick Tutorial

REGISTRATION & LOGGING IN //
1. Purchase Josh’s IDENTITY program. It’s amazing…and you’ll need an Access Code to get in to the Forum
2. Go to the Forum Home Page
3. Click the “Register/Login” button located on the top right of the page
4. To REGISTER, enter your Access Code, choose a Username and Password, enter a valid email address, and click “Register”
(a) You’ll be sent an email. Click the link in that email to activate your membership
(b) You’ll be taken back to the Login page
5. To LOGIN, enter your Username and Password and click “Submit”
NAVIGATION //
Wherever you are on The Forum, you’ll see the words “Forum Home” in the top left of the page just under the Hey Josh for Grown-ups logo. As you dig deeper into The Forum, you’ll notice it starts to look more like this:
Forum Home > For Program Owners Only > IDENTITY > Thread
This bar tells you where you are on the site. If at any time you lose your place in The Forum or want to cancel or go back, simply click one step back on this list or choose “Forum Home” to go back to the beginning and start over.
POST A NEW TOPIC //
1. From the Forum Home, enter the IDENTITY forum
2. In the forum, or when viewing any thread within the forum, click the link near the top left that says “New Topic”
3. Enter a title, write your message, and click “Submit Post” (or “Cancel” if you change your mind)
POST REPLY //
1. When viewing a thread, click “Reply to Post” (located near the top or bottom left) to join the conversation
2. Write your response in the box that opens and click “Submit”
3. To QUOTE a specific reply in your post, go to that post and click “Quote”
(a) This opens a special reply window that copies what that person said into your post
(b) Write your message after the quote (or before, if you prefer) and click “Submit”
4. To REPORT a post that’s inappropriate (e.g. spam, harassment, profanity) go to that post and click “Report”
(a) This opens a special window that copies the offending post into a form you can send to the forum moderators
(b) Select why you’re reporting the post, write a brief note, and click “Report”
(c) If you change your mind, click on “Thread” near the top to cancel and go back to the topic
YOUR CONTROL PANEL //
You can access your Control Panel from anywhere in The Forum by clicking the link at the top right of the page. In your Control Panel you have access to all kinds of personal settings and preferences. You can even upload a photo or “Avatar” that will appear beside your name whenever you post a topic or reply. From within the Control Panel you also have access to Private Messages, a basic email-like system to directly contact other Forum members. There’s also a Notepad to jot down thoughts you don’t want to share with others.
